Sourcing
Why from Albania?
Albania's Mediterranean climate is very favorable for Helichrysum.

How it works?
Helichrysum is a low-growing, perennial herb belonging to the daisy family. It has needle-like, silvery leaves and golden-yellow, ball-shaped flower heads. The plant prefers rocky, well-drained soil and a Mediterranean climate. The essential oil extracted from it is primarily obtained from the flowers. Helichrysum is harvested in late summer or early autumn when the flowers are mature enough for harvesting. The plant is most productive after about five years and bears fruit for a total of seven years.
Maintaining long-term partnerships
One of doTERRA's sourcing principles is to secure multi-year contracts with growers and distillers, based on solidarity and respect. This is how we support our Albanian partners with our long-term cooperation:
- Long-term business cooperation eliminates price fluctuations, ensuring growers receive consistent payment based on fair and transparent pricing.
- This provides them with a more stable and reliable livelihood.
